Hunter Cole Asche.

"In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog."

Hunter came home on May 7, 2010. He was adopted from a local shelter and quickly stole Mommy's and Daddy's hearts. Here is Hunter's Blog, where photos will be shared with family and friends.

Hunter Hates the Ice Cream Man

Hunter has been very patient with me, as I have been sitting here updating his blog. After a while, I hear that familiar sound... the ice cream truck! Unfortunately, this ice cream truck is more scary than anything. A creeper van is more accurate. Seriously. Kids beware!

Anyway, I notice that Hunter is barking at the ice cream man as he drives down our dead-end street (Hunter enjoys spying on people through our front door when I leave it open). Of course, by the time I get my phone ready for a video, he stops barking. Needless to say, I do have a video (a long one in hopes that he'd bark again), but alas Hunter doesn't bark. He really did, though, before I got the phone out. He likes to think he's ferocious. :)

And of course, in the video, he knows that I want him to bark, so he instead tries to get me to play soccer. Go figure.

Hunter Gets Spoiled: More Than Usual

So, while at Target, Jacob and I decided to get Hunter some new toys (not that he needs any). We left the store with a soccer ball, a football and THE biggest dog bone I have ever seen in my life. Hunter freaked when we got home. I first gave him the bone, then the soccer ball. He LOVED both. When it came time for the football, he couldn't have cared less (good boy!). Here are some videos of Hunter enjoying his new goodies.

Yep, to sum up: That's a "no" to Air Bud: Golden Receiver, but a definite "yes" to Air Bud: World Pup! A boy after my own heart!

Hunter: To the Park and Back Again

So, we all know that Hunter LOVES to fetch. He is a Labrador Retriever, after all. Luckily for us, we have this huge empty park area right down our sidewalk! Anyway, I thought it would be cute to compare via video how he walks to and then from the park. I hope you find these next two videos as adorable and hilarious as I do!

Air Hunter: Spikes Back

Forget Air Bud--Hunter has one more favorite activity to add to his list. Volleyball.

We discovered this Sunday afternoon when Mommy and Daddy were setting up the volleyball/badminton net in the backyard. Hunter was very patient (as was Mommy), and he played with his red ball, of course. Mommy and Daddy started playing badminton, and Hunter was very sad when they told him he could not fetch the birdie. But later, after Mommy hit the volleyball, Hunter ran to it and retrieved it. Before Daddy. A star was born.

Here is a video that Mommy had Daddy capture of Hunter in action.

And here are some photos that Mommy took.

And Mommy's favorite...

Next sport to try: soccer!

Hunter's Vacation: The Asche Acreage.

We just got back from our vacation to Daddy's parents' place. We packed up and left Friday, May 28, and came home Monday. Hunter thoroughly enjoyed his time visiting Grandma and Grandpa Asche at the Asche Acreage! Everyone loved him, and he was spoiled even more by them (as though he wasn't already spoiled enough)...

Hunter was disappointed that he didn't get to go golfing, fishing, or canoeing with Mommy and Daddy, though. But he behaved very well without them, Grandma said.

Here are some of the new experiences Hunter enjoyed: playing with plastic water bottles, running beside the horse in the horse pasture, playing with the gorgeous female black lab Katie, chasing a duck decoy, swimming in the family's pond (he got a bath afterward), and trying to eat marshmallows (but Mommy said "no").

Mommy forgot to take pictures, but Hunter probably liked it anyway, since Mommy takes a lot of pictures in general. Here is a photo of Grandma and Grandpa Asche, taken from Easter.

Grandma Asche even let Hunter sleep inside with Mommy and Daddy, so he didn't have to sleep in the dogs' pens outside. Hunter did make a mess inside, considering he is the messiest drinker and gets all the water everywhere. But he is still a spoiled boy. Hunter loved the ride back home, though, because he does very well in the backseat of the truck.

He enjoyed his vacation, but he was very happy to be back home. He can't wait for more adventures!

Videos of Hunter.

Here are some videos of Hunter from Mommy's Youtube.

How Hunter Sleeps.

Hunter is, of course, the most adorable Lab Doggie ever! He enjoys a good nap-- either on the carpet, the hardwood floors, Mommy and Daddy's bed, the Love Seat, or in the bathroom. Wherever he sleeps, he looks so sweet. Here are some sleepy shots of Hunter.

A Day in the Life of Hunter.

Hunter got to spend a day outside getting his picture taken by Mommy. Here are some cute ones!
